COURSE DESCRIPTION
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply highly specialised knowledge and skills in the field of organisational learning and capability development.
Individuals in these roles generate and evaluate complex ideas. They also initiate, design and execute major learning and development functions within an organisation. Typically, they would have full responsibility and accountability for the personal output and work of others.
This qualification may apply to leaders and managers in an organisation where learning is used to build organisational capability.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
International students must be over eighteen years old and provide evidence to demonstrate both academic and English language entry requirements as follows:
Academic Requirements as follows:
- Successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent and/or above
PLUS one of the following: - A Bachelor’s degree in any field; or
- Completion of an Australian Qualification at AQF Level 4 or higher; or
- Enrolment as a VET pathway student; or
- At least 12 months of work experience in a leadership, management, or learning management role within the last five years
As part of the enrolment process, information will be collected to determine the suitability of the student and to ensure that the requirements for LLN and digital literacy are met.
Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) Skills
As part of the Standards for RTOs 2025 set by the Department of Education, all students are required to complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) skills assessment before enrolment. This helps us ensure that you have the core skills needed to successfully complete your chosen course. If the assessment identifies any support needs, the College will provide reasonable assistance or learning support to help you meet the course requirements.
English Language Requirements as follows:
- IELTS 6.0 overall (no less than 5.5 in each band) or equivalent test result, or General English / EAP at the Upper-Intermediate level from an approved ELICOS provider
Any AQF qualification at the Certificate IV or above in any discipline area delivered and assessed in English only will be deemed as meeting both the academic and English language entry requirements
Entry into the course will depend on the Australian Immigration office’s Assessment Level for an international student’s country. At present, countries are classed from Level 1 through to Level 3. See Immigration’s website: www.immi.gov.au for details.
DURATION
The course duration is up to 104 weeks. There are 80 weeks of course delivery plus 24 weeks term break.

The course is offered in a blended mode of delivery and assessment. This means students are required to attend 15 hours face-to-face full-time classroom study plus complete 5 hours of structured online learning every week.
DELIVERY STRUCTURE – A BLENDED MIX OF CLASSROOM AND ONLINE
The course is provided through the Mercury Colleges ELearn platform. Your trainers deliver lectures and tutorials face to face on campus plus students are to complete weekly study online through ELearn. Progress is tracked for every student.

The students access the assessments through ELearn.

RESOURCE REQUIREMENTS |
Computers – Students must have their own laptop computer. You will use a computer to complete the course in class and in your own time. You may also access College computers when available.
Online learning – Students are required to pay a one-off compulsory resource fee to receive the Mercury Colleges online learning resource called ELearn.
COURSE CREDIT AND/OR RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
Students may be entitled to gain course credit and/or recognition before or after commencing the course that will exempt them from completing one or more units of competency. See the Student Handbook for more details and talk to a course advisor.
EXIT POINT/AWARD
Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a nationally recognised certificate. Students who do not complete all units may be eligible for a Statement of Attainment in partial completion of a BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning).
